Beautiful pair cased verge fusee pocket watch with matched chatelain from late XVIII century. The watch and it's outer case are made of solid 18k gold. The watch is hallmarked inside of of the case with French Royal hallmarks, the outer case is acid tested. The watch and chatelain are decorated with beautiful painted enamel scenes, depicting various scenes with playing children.
Very nice and delicate painting, real piece of art. Chatelain is made of gilt and silvered brass. Good quality verge fusee movement is signed by Musson a Paris. There is several watchmakers with this name registered. Most likely watch was made by Louis Musson, Master in 1770, installed on rue St.
Martin and active till 1783. Condition The ensemble is in very nice condition.Chatelain is in very nice condition, with minor defect - lack of one end hook. Watch is in perfect cosmetic condition with small scratches to the enamel. Dial is in quite ok condition with just tiny reparation near VI hours. Beautiful original hands, mineral crystals. Technically the watch is in running condition, works in every position, though I don't guarantee time keeping. Weight of watch is 50 grams, weight with outer case is 73 grams. Diameter of outer case is 45mm, inner case is 39mm wide. Length with chatelain is about 21 cm.
