DESCRIPTION Antique working silver plated English cased pocket watch. This piece is a marriage between an old Sheffield plated stand (silver rolled over copper) of a cherub holding an orb and an earlier 18th century verge fusee movement pocket watch. The orb opens up to reveal the silvered face of the pocket watch which is now encapsulated in the orb. The watch mechanism is signed and numbered and in great working condition. The silver face has Roman numerals on the dial for the hours and Arabic numbers on the outside for the minutes along with some decorative symbols in the center. A beautiful novelty watch which was created by a watch maker or jeweler a long time ago. This piece is wound up using the original watch key which is included. Movement marked: Charles Earith London No 1161 A great addition to your antique silvered or novelty pocket watch collection. MEASUREMENTS Cased watch measures 5.5" tall by 4.5" wide and weighs 15oz. CONDITION In good working condition with wear commensurate with age. There are a couple of old spots of wear through the silver plating throughout which reveals the copper underneath (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
