Antique Sterling Silver VERGE FUSEE Pocket Watch. This is a beautiful antique silver verge fusee pocket watch from the early 1800s. The diameter is approximately 2-1/4 inches (excluding the stem) and 1 inch thick. Case: The case is sterling silver with a hallmark on the stem.

The hallmark is worn, but it appears to be some kind of animal. There are minor scratches on the case.

The watch hinge has an old repair which allows some lateral movement when the watch is swung out from the case. But the movement latch snaps down well when the movement is seated. Mechanical condition: The watch has been disassembled, cleaned, and oiled. The watch winds, sets, and ticks the full length of the chain.

Although I do not offer guarantees on antique watch time keeping, the watch was within 3 minutes of true time for a full wind run. In a face-up position on my desk.
