Antique Vintage Elgin Hunter Pocket Watch 1897

  

Up for sale is an Antique Vintage Elgin Hunter Watch. I believe it's a size 0s. It measures about 1 5/8 in diameter with the case closed. It is Gilded and 3/4. It is pendant set and stem wind.

Black Roman Numerals complemented by deep blued spaded hands. I see a very tiny scuff in the center of the crystal which is not noticeable in the photos - hard to see with the naked eye.

It could possibly be polished out. The case is in very nice condition with some very exquisite engraving, which appears to be a scallop sea shell with starfish throughout on both the front and rear covers. There are no cracks, dents, dings, scratches, chips or hairlines. The serial # is 7514780, which dates the watch to 1897! "Safety Pinion" is marked on the movement.

All 3 hinged covers close snug as they should. The watch runs smoothly and keeps time well. The case is by Essex. Inside the rear cover is marked. This lovely timepiece would make a great gift or keepsake, and make a great addition to any watch collection.
