ANOTHER SUPERB AND EXTREMELY RARE ROLEX MILITARY WATCH FIND FROM ANTIQUETIMEONLINE! A BEAUTIFUL 1940'S CAL 540 ROLEX MILITARY ISSUE BLACK DIAL POCKET WATCH. THIS TYPE OF ROLEX WATCH WAS USED IN THE FIELD. SERVICED AND READY TO WEAR! This is a stunning, and beautiful chrome two piece screw back and bezel watch case. The back and bottom of the case have the original military identification numbers and they all match including the dial. They are all numbered A18990. The inside of the case back is FULLY SIGNED by ROLEX. The case is in good original condition for its advanced years showing light wear to parts of the case (see pics). The outside of the case back has some light normal wear and tear from service usage but is in very good condition. The watch measures 4.8cms (48mm) across, excluding the crown. This is an absolutely lovely, and most importantly totally original fully signed black dial. The dial shows NO hairlines and apart from a small dial repair at 4 o'clock is in great original condition. The dial is signed "ROLEX A18990" It has gold painted lettering which says'Swiss Made' on the bottom of the dial. It has gold painted Arabic and numerals bordered by a gold minute track which is in good original condition. The beautiful steel'cathedral' style contemporary minute, hour and minute hands are in good condition with new lume on them. This is a really lovely dial in excellent original condition. The plastic crystal is brand new and as such is in minty condition. This is a beautiful and absolutely ROLEX SIGNED GOOD GRADE 15 jewel cal 540 manual wind movement. It has a beautiful finish and is FULLY SIGNED on the top plate in a beautiful typesetting, showing its ROLEX roots.

The watch winds smoothly and sets with good friction. It is in running condition AND HAS JUST BEEN SERVICED BY MY WATCHMAKER. The watch has kept decent time to within a few mins as tested over a 12 hour period. The chromed metal original crown looks genuine to the watch, and is in excellent condition showing NO plate loss. The chain ring is in good condition.

THIS IS A GREAT MILITARY ISSUE TIMEPIECE. IF YOU ARE AN ENTHUSIAST OR COLLECTOR YOU WOULD BE MAD TO MISS THIS HOROLOGICAL BEAUTY. I have described all of my items to the best of my knowledge. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service.
