WATCHES MARKED'S&CO ON THE MOVEMENT WERE BY STAUFFER AND CO WHO WERE THE ONLY IMPORTERS OF INTERNATIONAL WATCH CO SHAUFFHAUSEN MOVEMENTS INTO GREAT BRITAIN. THIS MOVEMENT IS ALSO MARKED'IWC' UNDER THE DIAL.

The stunning case to this beautiful IWC watch is all solid 18 carat gold. IT IS A VERY GOOD QUALITY GOLD CASE.

The case back has the most beautiful foliate and scrolling design which is crisp, showing no apparent wear. The cartouche is in lovely condition and has no personalisations. The dustcover is also solid 18k gold and is in excellent condition showing a few light marks from opening and an engraving with the retailers name and'Swiss Made' on it. I can see no dings to the eye. The back and front covers snap to very well.

I have gently polished the case, and it is shining nicely, as only hi grade solid 18 carat gold can. The chain ring is hall marked for 18 solid carat gold and is ORIGINAL to the watch. THE WATCH MEASURES approx 3.2 CMS (32mm) IN DIAMETER. The DOUBLE CASE HINGES to the front rear show no signs of abuse. All three covers are fully hallmarked for solid 18 CARAT GOLD. This gorgeous IWC watch has a fantastic and minty solid 18 carat gold (tested) dial. It is in fabulous condition for its 100 years + age. It is unsigned as you would expect. It has beautiful sharp and crisp Arabic black painted numerals, which are crisp and clear with no apparent wear.

The number 11 has a small area of patina on it. The crystal is MADE FROM GLASS AND COULD BE THE ORIGINAL and as such it shows light wear and tear. The dial has MINT blued steel hands. This is a really fantastic original MINTY dial.

(Very unusual for a watch of this age) It must have been kept away from the light of day for most of its life. This is a beautiful Swiss top quality original fully signed crown wind and pin set jewelled lever S&CO (STAUFFER AND CO) movement (signed as a Crown over S&Co). This is the IWC standard marking for its movements imported to london at this time and STAUFFER & SONS WERE THE ONLY IMPORTER OF IWC MOVEMENTS INTO GREAT BRITAIN AT THIS TIME. It is correctly marked'Peerless' under the balance. THE WATCH IS FULLY SIGNED'IWC' UNDER THE DIAL. I took a photo on the bench as my watchmaker was servicing it for me. The watch exudes quality so it is a high end product. The movement is running well and has just been FULLY SERVICED by my watchmaker. It is running well and has kept time to within approx 2 mins per day as tested over the last 12 hours The watch winds smoothly and pin sets as it should. This stunning watch is complimented by a beautiful black moire silk hanging fob which is in excellent condition. It has a gorgeous regal look about it and is finished with beautifully filigree engraved solid 9 carat gold fittings and dogclip.
