Nice and rare miniature watch in pear-shaped case. The case is made of gold and decorated with multicoloured enamel. The watch is tiny, height is 40mm, diameter is 24mm. Weight is just 16,5 grams. The verge fusee movement is among the smallest produced, it's diameter is less than 20mm. The dial and movement are signed by Moricand in Geneve. Interesting, that tiny balance bridge also feature monogram, looking as MPJ & R to me.
Company of Moricand brothers is known since middle of XVIII century. After disappearance one of it's members, it was renamed to Moricand & Cie about 1780. Among company production was richly enamelled watches, highly complicated watches with automates, watches with equation of times, special escapements and so on. Society was dissipated after death of Christian Moricand in 1791 and shortly after, Benjamin Moricand.
5 August 2020 - YouTube. Condition Watch appears to be in good condition. The enamel has very minor defects, overall beautifully preserved.
Dial seems to be in fine condition with minor imperfections. Movement is in running condition, though I don't guarantee time keeping.
