Up for sale is a beautiful, rare, mint condition quarter repeater verge fusee 22 karat solid gold pair case antique pocket watch, circa 1780, made by the English eminent watchmaker Eardley Norton. The watch has just been cleaned and serviced and the movement is in perfect working condition. It runs to the end of the fusee chain very smoothly and keeps very good time. The repeater mechanism functions perfectly.
The sound is loud and clear. The movement has a push pendant quarter repeating two hammers on a bell. Beautiful engraved top plate and balance cock. The mint fire gilt movement is signed.
