Pocket watch with rare set of complications - independent jumping second and quarter repetition. Very high grade movement jewelled to the hammers (36 jewels), with gold setting for endstone.

High quality side-lever escapement, cut and compensated balance wheel with golden screws. All steel details are mirror polished and beveled. Back cover states that watch is specially produced by Joseph Marchak - known jeweler of Russian origin, installed in Paris. The House of Marchak (Russian:) was founded by Joseph Abramovich Marchak, a young talented jeweler in 1878, in Kiev, then in Russia.

Considered one of the great competitors of Fabergé at the beginning of last century and sometimes called The Cartier of Kiev, the company employed 150 workers at the start of the Russian Revolution of 1917. After the revolution of 1917 Marchak emigrated to France.

Marchak house is still exists today and is producing top level jewellery. The case also bears Probus Scafusia hallmark by IWC.

The movement doesn't seems to be IWC origin. May be the case is IWC made, but most likely IWC performed assembling and verification of the watch.

Besides IWC hallmark, case bears Swiss, German and Imperial Russian hallmarks for solid 14k gold. The watch based on the very similar movement has been also produced by Jules Jurgensen, it's described in details in book "The Jurgensen Dynasty" by John Knudsen, p. Condition Watch appears to be in good condition. Dial is very nice, without visible damages.

Movement is in working condition, all complications functions as it should. Case has minor period wear, nothing special to mention. Weight is 118 grams, diameter is 57mm, height is 70mm. Nice watch, interesting piece of high-end Swiss watchmaking. Similar watch by Jules Jurgensen with complete technical description.
