A Superb Antique Fusee Pocket Watch by Burnett Jarrow on Tyne 1879
This is a superb example of an antique solid Silver Pocket Watch made by W Burnett of Jarrow on Tyne that appears on the pure white face. Has black Roman Numerals and gold colour hands with a separate seconds sub dial, unusually for a timepiece of this age, the Face is free from hairline cracks. The 138 year old chain driven Fusee movement, is signed by Burnett, and serial numbered 5703, Key wound and Set, with the key provided, it winds well, runs strongly and keeps time. The solid silver coin edged Case, with an engine turned pattern and attractive Cartouche, to the Back Cover, suitable to initial, is in excellent condition, no dents, all catches and hinges operating correctly, is very prominently hallmarked for London 1879, and Silver Smith SI, it measures 2.0 inches dia. A really lovely old English Pocket Watch, in beautiful condition, and in full working order.
