Antique Victorian Beveled Glass Cranberry Pocket Watch Holder Display Box Casket

  

An antique Victorian era pocket watch display vitrine box. Featuring gorgeous cranberry pink hand-blown art glass display case with a thick beveled glass door. Opening to reveal a gilt ormolu and tufted fabric lined floral form cushion, with hook to display a pocket watch. This piece is unique in that when the glass door is opened, the watch holder slides out, and reverses back into the case when the door is closed, a lovely feature.

Embellished by bronze or brass mounts. Topped by a handle and resting on four twisted metal legs, with a charming lily of the valley floral embellishment. In good antique condition with some general wear commensurate with use and age, no chips or cracks.

These charming miniature vitrines are perfect to collect and display, great for cameo pendants, heirloom lockets or a favorite miniature portrait. Pocket watches were in fashion until they began to be superseded by wristwatches around the time of World War I. The pocket watch shown in the photographs is for display only and is not included.
