The small workshop "MF" with only five to six employees delivered highly valued and coveted gold cases in outstanding quality, all cases were made exclusively by hand. Until 1885 Meylan Frères was the main supplier for Audemars. The Geneva-based manufacturers unanimously agreed that "there were never before such beautiful and elegant cases".

The movement was manufactured in top quality, optional quarter-hour self-strike, hour self-selfstrike or mute. Trip -reepetition of hours and quarter-hours over the small slider on the side at 10 o'clock. The movement is fully functional and beautifully preserved. In 1837, Audemars developed his first watch, which was wind over the crown. This invention has been further improved over the years, in 1847 LeCoultre designed his version of the crown wind.
Audemars combined the two systems and exhibited his production-ready crown wind system at the 1851 London World's Fair. The present movement is most likely a work from this development period, it was made in the late 1840s. The movement is not signed. Extremely beautifully designed, original enamel dial, original Audemars gold pear hands, reference see Audemars book p.224, the hands and dial are in excellent condition. The watch comes in the illustrated elegant red leather case.
