Up for sale is a Extremely Rare Beautiful Antique Newark Watch Co Robert Fellows Grade Pocket Watch. In Beautiful Highly Engraved 18K Solid Rose Gold Case. From the old private collection. The movement has a serial number 11716 which dates it to be manufactured in 1865. Only fewer than 50 in total were manufactured in hunter case configuration and only 3 survived according to our research.

The Original Glass Enamel Dial, Fleur de Lis Hands and Glass Crystal are in immaculate mint condition please see the pictures. The Dial signed "Newark Watch Works". The Original 18K Solid Gold case is in Excellent Mint condition.

The Total Weight is 120.5g. The Watch is Key wind and Key Set.

Thank You and Good Luck!!! Arthur Wadsworth, one of the designers for Newark Watch Co. Patented an 18 Size full plate movement. The first movement reached the market in 1865. But only less then 50 were manufactured in hunter case configuration. And latered it over to serve as a factory. The machinery and tools were moved into it in 1864 and the name "The Newark Watch Company" was adopted. The parties interested were Augustus, Robert, and Edward Shell, and Lewis S. The original model was made by Mr. Wadsworth, and was 18 size, and closely resembled an English watch then on the market. The first watches were all key-wind; The movements were called, "Robert Fellows", "Edward Bevin", and "Newark Watch Company".

The stem wind was named "The Arthur Wadsworth, " after the inventor. The company manufactured in all about 3,000 watches, but was gradually running behind. Accordingly in 1869 negotiations were entered into with the Cornell Watch Company, then organized at Chicago. The main names on the Newark watch movements are the following: "Robert Fellows", "Arthur Wadsworth/Keyless Watch", "Edward Biven", "The Newark Watch".
