Vintage Antique Elgin 16s 17 jewels pocket watch serviced

  

Up for your consideration is this antique Elgin 16 sized pocket watch. It is a grade 387, model 7, class 110. It features 17 jewels, nickel plates, Moseley micro-adjust regulator, and is pendant set. The enamel dial, although not pristine (a few character marks can be seen between the 12 and 1, by the 10, and one by the 7) is in excellent condition for being what it is- an everyday working persons watch.

The newer blued hands hands make this an all-around stand-out watch. The case was manufactured by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company and is their Silverode (nickel alloy).

The bezel (front) could be a little'harder' to screw down- just a tighter fit, and a few dings on the back you may be able to see in the pics. The case measures about 50mm round, 63.6mm with the well-defined crown, and 13.5mm in thickness including the new glass crystal. The bow is stiff as it should be.

The serial number dates this piece to 1914. This piece has been recently (12/2019) professionally serviced: total disassembly, pivots polished, pivot holes pegged out, ultra sonic washes, new alloy mainspring installed, balance restaffed, fresh lubes and oils, adjusted for reasonable timekeeping, case polished and purdified, and the aforementioned new crystal fitted.
