An exceptionally nice solid silver Pair Cased gents pocket watch By Jn. It will date by the London hallmark to circa 1856.The serial number is 8420 and it has matching hallmarks on both cases. The brightly gilded movement with Fusee chain drive and Verge escapement is in excellent working order as it has recently been serviced. It has strong unstressed hinges with all covers closing well and they have both polished up very nicely to make a very attractive antique watch for the discerning collector. It has a nice white ceramic dial with bold black Roman numerals. Very light hairline and small chip at the centre which are barely visible to the naked eye but do require a mention.Blued steel hands and a clear, good crystal glass all add the originallity and quality of the watch.
