Antique 1911 Damas Pocket / Fob Watch With Silver Chain And Silver Badge

  

This is a beautiful example of a 1911 Damas Pocket watch with a heavy 39 gram chain and badge. The watch itself has not been tested as working and so may need some servicing. The watch and case measures 5cm diameter with the knob protruding a further 1.5cm.

The chain is 34cm length and at the end of the chain is a 3.5cm bar Fob and a badge which is 3.5cm tall and 2. The badge is hallmarked silver Birmingham 1910 with maker's mark H B & S for Herbert Bushel and Son of Northampton Street, Birmingham. The fob T-bar has maker's mark H.

A & S for Henry Allday and Son of Warstone Lane, Birmingham. There is no assay office stamp, but there is a fineness mark for sterling silver and a date mark of a gothic upper-case "S", so possibly Birmingham 1892. The inside of the case has serial numbers 251879 and 2942 and has also been hand-inscribed with a name and the date 24-2-11 (24th February 1911). The watch movement has no serial number but is Damas Swiss Made with 15 jewels and 3 adjustments. This is a stunning piece of history and would be an excellent piece for a collector.
