Gentleman's Antique original Swiss'Geneva' high grade 15 jewel pocket watch with beautiful ivory porcelain dial in a highly polished 9ct carat (professionally tested) rose rolled gold (has a lovely soft pink hue and is known in the USA as gold filled) case. Looks to have been much loved and very well cared for - her condition certainly reflects this. Full working order and is an excellent timekeeper (within +3/-3 minute per 24 hours) with plenty of room on the regulator (which is sat correctly in the central position) for any further fine tuning. Fully checked, serviced and new mainspring fitted by my highly experienced watchmaker and is guaranteed to be 100% authentic - a timepiece to grace any collection!

Impressive and distinctive high gloss ivory porcelain dial in very near mint condition - absolutely no marks or nibbles and just a few extremely light little hairlines radiating out from number 2 (so small are not showing up well in the photographs but mentioning for accuracy). Bold black Arabic numbers (note the lovely little arrow tip to number 4) with black minute markers, bolder black 5 minute markers and diamond shaped black 15 minute markers to chapter ring.

Recessed sub dial with black Arabic numbers and black seconds chapters. Finely cut bright blued steel spade and whip hands and original blued steel arrow tipped seconds hand all in lovely. Original bevel edge, thick glass (not acrylic) in clear, bright condition with few very tiny surface scratches showing under eyeglass only. The highly polished (5cm diameter / 7cm from top of bow to base), 9 carat rose rolled gold case is heavy (has a pleasing solid feel in the hand and total watch weight is 82.6 grams), robust and in lovely condition - absolutely no wear, tiny pinprick indentation to back cover (only visisble if caught in the right light) and few very light and fine little overall surface scratches commensurate with age and use in her 100+ years service. All covers (both inside and out) still retain their original, high gloss, mirror finish. Beautifully stamped to the inside of the back cover in very fancy arched script; GENEVA WATCH CASE GENEVA SWISS MADE and is numbered; 678725. The inside of the dust cover (which carries the most wonderful'fishscale' engine turning - the detail of which remains as crisp and clear today as the day it was made) is clearly stamped; THIS CASE GUARANTEED TO WEAR 10 YEARS and is numbered correctly; 678725. The stem wound and set, high grade Swiss 15 ruby jewelled, 3/4 plate, engine turned lever movement (size; 16) is in superb bright and clean order and as mentioned above has just been fully checked and serviced. Carries the most wonderful geometric engine turning to the top plates and'swirl' engine turning to the mirror finish mainspring and ratchet barrel covers. Has a solid bi-arm balance balance wheel with brass balance screws and two red gold meantime screws (for precision timing), bright blued steel over coil Breguet hairspring which is true,'in the round' and'breathing' well, large ruby jewels in sunken chaton settings, ruby pallet jewels and original matching, highly polished steel case screws. Clearly stamped on the top plate in arched script; SWISS MADE, numbered to the bottom plate (under the dial); 51482 with the Swiss + and numbered to the underside of the bottom plate; 875 (partial repeat of the case number). Balance action is absolutely tremendous in all positions (could not be any better) and is keeping excellent time with a sure, strong positive action - runs like a train. Winds extremely smoothly and fully do not be afraid to fully wind, over-winding is the greatest horological myth! Hand set operates smoothly and correctly - the pull up/push down action is very firm and true. Lovely large original un-worn rose gold filled'onion' crown. Good original firm rose gold filled bow. A very handsome and highly impressive Gentleman's Antique Swiss timepiece which as mentioned above was much loved and very well cared for by the original owner - she will make a perfect gift and a heirloom to be enjoyed by your future generations!
