Some of the cases you will see are dented slightly from age and use wear. They are all mechanical watches and not battery operated. There are no keys with them unless otherwise stated.Some are crown wind so no key needed. I have NOT timed any of them and not serviced any. This is an antique open face case, gold plated fancy, crown wind pocket watch made by Elgin. The case has a really nice embossed foliage type pattern on the edge and the initials STH engraved onto the back in a flowery cartouche. The dial is metal with all hands present.
The dial has a nice pattern engraved onto the surface. It has a pop open hinged back which is engraved on the inside with: Nawco King Guaranteed 25 years 14K Gold Filled 437133.The movement is marked: 26221993 Elgin Natl Watch Co. There are normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs etc. The case has a couple of dints on the surface and t he gilding is worn in places. The dial and glass dome have some surface scuffs.
It winds but nothing happens, the balance staff is OK but I think the hair spring is tangled and stopping it from working.. 1 and 5/8 inches in diameter or 4.2cm. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.
