Fabulous & rare 19th century Napoleon III or Victorian era gilt pressed ormolu & thick beveled glass pocket watch display casket, a charming little vitrine with hunt themed figures in pressed repousse including horses, hounds, hunters, game hens and even a fox! These little pocket watch caskets are always a treat, especially when we find them with such a distinct hunting theme! A multi-figure fox & wild boar hunting scene unfolds around the entire thin pressed repousse sides, even the hound chasing a fox on the top!

Riders on horseback, a hunter on foot with several leashed hounds and a fleeing wild boar!! Some age, a flaw or two but what a gentlemanly way to display a treasured heirloom or antique timepiece! As evident in the images, the interior fabric is a bit aged but original and intact.

The clasp is missing and there are remnants of a silver finish or plating visible in some of the deeper recesses of the figural bas relief. There is also a split on the front panel where the two sides of the pressed repousse meet. No chips or cracks to the thick beveled glass. We're easy to deal with.
