This is a lovely Ladies' 35mm diameter Sterling Silver Top-Wind pocket watch. It is in very good condition overall. It is also fully working and keeping very good time, to within a minute or two a day. As can be seen from the photographs, the watch case is in very good condition, with hardly any visible signs of use and wear. The crystal surface is slightly scratched. Beneath is the white enamelled face with Greek Numerals. This has some hairlines which give it character, but could probably be made less prominent by cleaning. As can also be seen from the photos, the Silver case-back and dust cover are fully Hallmarked. As well as the Lion-Mark for Sterling Silver there is the Anchor-Mark for Birmingham and the Date-Letter (M) for 1886-7. It is unusual for a pocket watch of this age to still be in fully working condition and keeping time. The front bezel and case back snap firmly shut as they should. The watch is ticking away happily and keeping very good time. It runs in all positions for the full length of the wind. That said, the watch is well over 100 years old and long-term reliability cannot be guaranteed. It may also benefit fron a service. In all, it is a very good looking example of a Victorian Pocket Watch in working condition. The watch will be posted by a 24 hour Tracked and Signed-For Service.
