WALTHAM POCKET WATCH JEWEL SCROLLED ENGRAVED BACK c1902 possibly earlier. Please note that unlike most "Waltham" pocket watches, this one has the full name of the company written out on the dial. Also unique to this pocket watch is the sundial/subdial for seconds. The individual fonts and contract between the black and red numbers are particularly striking. Overall, a very handsome and elegant timpiece.

Very handsome pocketwatch with clean and elegant number font for both the main dial and the subdial. Easy to read design and doesn't look busy or cluttered despite having main dial, subdial and contrasting black and red numbers. Waltham pocketwatches with numeric numbers, red and black lettering and scrolled lettering inside appear to be harder to find.

The black font to mark the hours 1 to 12 used is a nice contrast to the smaller red numbers around the outer edge which run from 5 to 60. There is a smaller circle inset to mark 60 seconds. WATCH w/ Subdial Red Second Indices. Face Dial: White porcelain face with blue steel hands. Inside movement is beautifully detailed and engraved as follows.

Per Waltham database of serial numbers this is Model 1883, grade No. Outer case edge is marked 06116271.

Inner back case stamped: 6216271. We are not watch experts but this is a non-working antique piece which can probably be fixed by a hobbyist or professional jeweler. Has light wear, scuffs, scratches and a hairline mark upper half going vertically up/down around the middle dial. Zoom into photos to see overall condition.
