A service comprises of the following, a complete strip down cleaning in an ultrasonic bath, all jewel and pivot holes cleaned with peg wood, the mainspring is removed from the barrel, cleaned and oiled, if this is broken or set it is replaced. If so, this is stated. The movement is inspected oiled reassembled and adjusted. The watch is running with a true and flat balance motion with good amplitude in all positions.

The balance is a cut compensating bimetallic balance with a blued over coil Breguet type hair spring, with screwed in weights in the balance rim and mean time adjusting screws in the balance arms, the jewels are set in raised mounts. The watch is keeping excellent time, please note a mechanical watch will not keep time as a quartz watch will. The movement is in a nickel finish with beautiful damascening on the bridge plates with bright steel crown and ratchet wheels, with all the black inlay paint intact. A very nicely decorated movement. The dial is in glass enamel and is single sunk at the 6 o'clock position, it is in Arabic numerals with a minute track in the outer chapter, With Waltham written in block letters, there aren't any hairlines, chips, or marks of any kind, a perfect dial. The hands are an elegant slim matched set in blued steel of the spade style and are also in excellent condition. The case is a star grade case, it is gold filled and guaranteed for 10 years from new, it has a fish design on the inner rear cover and say's American Waltham watch co. Cleaned, a very nice case.
