A service comprises of the following, a complete strip down cleaning in an ultrasonic bath, all jewel and pivot holes cleaned with peg wood, the mainspring is removed from the barrel, cleaned and oiled, if this is broken or set it is replaced. If so, this is stated. The movement is inspected oiled reassembled and adjusted. The watch is running with a true and flat balance motion with good amplitude in all positions.

The balance is a cut compensating bimetallic balance with a blued over coil Breguet type hair spring, with screwed in weights in the balance rim and mean time adjusting screws in the balance arms. The watch is keeping good time, please note a mechanical watch will not keep time as a quartz watch will. The movement is in a nickel finish with beautiful damascening on the bridge plates with bright steel crown and ratchet wheels, with all the black inlay paint intact. It has a patent style regulator for fine adjustment of the time. A very nice looking movement.

The dial is in glass enamel and is single sunk at the 6 o'clock position, it is in Roman numerals with a minute track in the outer chapter, With Waltham written in script, there aren't any hairlines, chips, or marks of any kind, a perfect dial. The hands are an elegant slim matched set in blued steel of the spade and whip style and are also in excellent condition. The case is made by Dennison, it is in sterling silver and marked special, it is hall marked for Birmingham assay office with the letter F for 1930. The case is in excellent condition.

The crystal is totally unmarked not a chip, or scratch to be seen, it is raised with a bevel edge. I try to give an honest and accurate description, please look at the photos as they form part of it.
