The balance is a cut compensating bimetallic balance with a blued over coil Breguet type hair spring, with screwed in weights in the balance rim and mean time adjusting screws in the balance arms. The jewel mounts are raised and screw set, the watch is keeping very good time, please note a mechanical watch will not keep time as a quartz watch will. The movement is a bridge plate, in a nickel finish with beautiful damascening on the bridge plates with bright steel crown and ratchet wheels with all the black inlay paint intact. It has a star wheel style regulator for fine adjustment of the time.
A very nice looking movement complete with it's dust ring. The dial is glass enamel and is single sunk at the 6 o'clock position, the dial is in Roman numerals and is unsigned there is a minute track in the outer chapter and the sub seconds at the 6 o'clock position. The dial is unmarked not a chip, scratch, or hairline to be seen, it is in excellent condition. The hands are a matched set in a gold colour, they are very fine slim hands of the whip and spade style with the seconds hand in blued steel and are also in excellent condition. The case is open face gold filled and guaranteed 10 years from new, it is a hinged back case with both rear covers opening on good hinges and closing down tight, the front bezel is of the snap on type. The crown winds and sets the watch as it should, the case is smooth polished with no wear at all, just one very tiny ding on the rear cover and no gouges or scrapes. There is a new mineral glass crystal fitted.I try to give an honest and accurate description, please look at the photos as they form part of it.
