A service comprises of the following, a complete strip down cleaning in an ultrasonic bath, all jewel and pivot holes cleaned with peg wood, the mainspring is removed from the barrel, cleaned and oiled, if this is broken or set it is replaced. If so, this is stated. The movement is inspected oiled reassembled and adjusted.

The watch is running with a true and flat balance motion with good amplitude in all positions. The balance is a cut compensating bi-metallic balance with a blued over coil Breguet type hair spring, with screwed in weights in the balance rim and mean time adjusting screws in the balance arms, the jewels are screw set in flush fit mounts. The watch is keeping very good time, please note a mechanical watch will not keep time as a quartz watch will. The movement is in a nickel finish with beautiful damascening on the bridge plates with bright steel crown and ratchet wheels, with all the black inlay paint intact.

It has a Church or star wheel style regulator which is set central on the balance, just where it should be for fine adjustment of the time. A very nice looking movement.

The dial is in glass enamel and is single sunk at the 6 o'clock position, it is in Roman numerals with a minute track in the outer chapter, the dial is unsigned, there aren't any hairlines, chips, or marks of any kind, a perfect dial. The hands are an elegant slim matched set in gold colour of the spade and whip style with the sub seconds hand in blued steel, they are also in excellent condition.

The case is gold filled it is made by Dennison and is their moon grade, guaranteed 20 years from new and is smooth polished, the rear covers and the bezel all open to 90 degrees and close down. On good hinges, the crown winds and extracts to set the time and functions as it should, the bow is taut and stay's in position, there aren't any gouges, dents, scratches or wear of any kind to be seen a perfect case. The crystal is in mineral glass, it is raised and bevelled and is new.
