Large Antique 1888 Sterling Silver Cased Fusee Watch, S Lichtenstein, Manchester

  

A fine and large pocket watch with a fusee movement by S. Silver hallmarked case by Charles Cook with Chester marks and date letter for 1888. Sunken secondary dial with blued steel second hand. Larger than average case (sub goliath) at 57 mm diameter.

Depth of 20.5 mm. A heavy watch at 161.5 grams. The movement appears in good all round condition and the watch is tickiing along fine.

Comes with the key shown. Original glass in good unscratched condition. Good spring opening back case. The enamel face is very good with only very minor chip on rim of seconds dial and slight crazing below. We have not serviced or tested this watch for time keeping but it has been in the family for over 35 years and has been well treated.
