HUGE, Handsome English 1851, 170 yrs old! 18ct solid gold Antique Engraved Pocket Watch.

48mm wide 9mm deep MASSIVE 80g weight. I have given this a good testing over the last few days. And it is surprisingly accurate! 5mins in every 12 hrs..... However, the guarantee cannot be found. The'tick' is quiet, solid, quite slow and hypnotising.

Could well go on for another 170 years...... I have owned this since 2016 and have wound it. Beautiful condition, no dents or bad scratches.

No pawn marks either, a rich owner.... Full London hallmarks for 1851 (Gothic Q). The case is marked'CK.

The loop at the top of the watch shows worn marks. It too appears to be gold.

I believe that the dial is also solid 18ct gold, but I have not gone inside to check. Presented to The Rev'd Wm Turner, Craigdam.

By his congregation as a mark of esteem. For him as their Minister. The back is opened to exactly 90 degrees by a button. To reveal the hole for winding (anticlockwise).

A hole for setting the hands too. There a few very light scratches on the dial. Which is likely to be gold; but I have not looked. The secondary dial works superbly. I believe all the hands. Geo Jamison, jeweller to the Queen, Aberdeen. The'blued' screws show no scratches at all. No amateur has ever messed with this timepiece. I was tempted to find the weight of the case, but see above. A key will be provided, of course. This watch simply'oozes quality. It is indeed a fine watch. Sadly, it appears to have spent its life in a case.

The lens is plastic and fits well, but is NOT fixed. Sometimes it stays put, other times, it falls out. Superglue, two very small dots, would cure this.
