Unusual Late 18c Square Pillar Verge Watch Movement In Period Mahogany Clockcase. The Baker Chatham Movement's fusee chain is in three pieces and regulating quadrant is loose in the back of the clock and the balance staff is suspect at best! The perfect white enamel dial has a diameter of approximately 48 mm and the movement currently fitted has a diameter of approximately 35mm. The case has a strange little pulley in the top of it which makes me wonder whether the case's original movement would have had a repeater mechanism.

Beautiful thing to display as it is or to repair. The case front, although tiny, is beautifully made from a choice little piece of mahogany. Even the back part which is not so well finished has an appealing charm to it. A stunning little project for someone.
