This is a Extremely Rare 18th Century Solid Silver Verge Escapement Fusee Pocket Watch, the Solid Silver Casding was crafted by the Silversmith Thomas Carpenter, and the Pocket Watch has the name Rob Tickle inscribed being the maker of the Pocket Watch and was made in London 1789 making it an amazing 231 years old, it is fully Hallmarked inside the Lid and has his Mark for 1789 and also the Kings Head is on the Hallmark as a duty mark, and the duty mark was abolished for Pocket Watches in 1798. This is an extremely Rare example of an 18th Century working Pocket Watch, this Pocket Watch keeps good time and has a lovely ticking sound and very occasionally the movement does stop but starts again after a little shake, the small Hand goes round nicely making this a special Quality Pocket Watch from such a wonderful time in History, this really is an amazing Pocket Watch and the front Glass has a Dome Shape to it with a Magnifier to the middle of the Glass, the Hands appear to be original with the Arrow shape and it has a White Enamel Face with Roman Numeral Numbers. The Enamel is in general good condition with just a couple of Slight wear between the 6 and 5 and a little chip at the number 8. To the side of the Pocket Watch is a small switch that when moved stops and starts the movement.

The Front Glass has a Hinge that opens and closes the Glass Lid and the Hinge is in good condition. When the Lid is Opened there is another small Button that releases the Movement which is also Hinged, the Movement has the most Beautiful Gold Gilt to it and Stunning Scrolls and Floral Patterns and has a Diamond Shape Crystal, and the Gilt is inscribed with the name Rob Tickle for the Watch Movement Maker, and under the name is the word St Hellan which was one of the names used for St Helens and also has Number 400. The Winder on the back needs to be turned anti Clockwise to wind the Watch Up. The Hinged Case for this Pocket Watch is fully Hallmarked for the Silversmith Thomas Carpenter of London with the Date 1789 and is in lovely condition for its age with just slight wear marks near the thumb Piece, there is also an outer Solid Silver Case with a Hinge Lid with the same Maker and Date Marks, and this has a Purple Jewel Push Button to open the Outer Case and it opens and closes securely, the Outer Case is in lovely condition with just light scratching. This is a very rare chance to Own an 18th Century Verge Escapement Fusee Solid Silver Pocket Watch and this would add something special to any collection.
