ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE WATCH FROM MYANTIQUECOLLECTION2020. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE. I HAVE FOR SALE TODAY A VERY RARE ELGIN SILVEROID CASED RAILWAY POCKET WATCH FROM THE RARELY FOUND RAILWAY COMPANY-THE. THE FANTASTIC ELGIN MOVEMENT DATES THIS SUPERB QUALITY WATCH TO 1916-17.

IT HAS AN EXCELLENT DIAL. The case to this beautiful watch is made from VERY thick heavy gauge white metal which is marked'SILVEROID' and. KEYSTONE WATCH CASE CO SILVEROID GENUINE IMITATION SILVER'. Everything about this watch case is fantastic. It shows only light normal age related wear and tear from normal use. THE ENGRAVING IS A LITTLE SHALLOW NOW BUT IT CAN STILL BE SEEN. I can see NO tooling damage.

I have gently polished the case, and it is shining really well. It is in really excellent condition.

THE WATCH MEASURES A LARGE 5.8CMS (58mm) IN DIAMETER. There are no signs of abuse. This stunningly rare and collectible watch has a nice original brilliant white dial. The dial has NO hairlines or damage that I can see and looks fabulous.

It has beautiful pronounced sharp and crisp ROMAN black painted numerals, which are absolutely, crisp and clear with no apparent wear. The crystal is GLASS and seems to be the original. It shows light marks and a few edge chips but is very nice.

The beautiful antique spade style watch hands are blued steel and are in near mint condition! This is a fabulous condition, STUNNING ELGIN made FULLY SIGNED crown wind and set VERY HIGH QUALITY movement. ELGIN NATL WATCH CO USA'.

The movement is numbered 209XXXXX. I have entered this number in the ELGIN database and it dates it to 1916-17.

The movement has 15 jewels and has some stunning damascening on the top plates and balance cock. The watch runs extremely well and started to tick after a few turns of the crown. It has been lightly oiled by my watch maker. The balance has a great action.

It keeps decent time as tested over a 12 hour period but as always a full service would be needed for optimum performance. It winds smoothly, and the hands setting works as it should. The crown is in excellent condition and the chain ring shows some normal light wear having been in use on the Railway.

THIS IS ONE OF THE RARE RAILWAY WATCHES FROM MY COLLECTION THAT I HAVE HAD. AS SO IT COMMANDS A PRICE BUT WHOEVER BUYS IT WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming.

Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning.

Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service.
