It has full English hallmarks for sterling silver. The case maker's mark "JF" for John Fleckner (Case maker, Warwick Street, Earlsdon, Coventry), the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and the date letter "B" for 1877/78. There is a central cartouche that is free of initials and has a gold garter belt surround.
The case has the serial number 24495 to match the movement proving both are original and have been together since new. The white dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in Roman numerals and is signed Centre Seconds Chronograph. The good quality fusee chronograph movement is in excellent working order. It is key wind and set by the key provided.
The stop work for the centre seconds is functioning. This is a substantial watch, measuring 55mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 167.9g. Overall, this is a very good example, it would make a lovely addition to any collection. We always have a large number of pocket watches in stock.
